John 7:21-36 Title: Injustice Rejects the Truth

John 20:31 states the purpose of writing the Bible as follows:

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ,

the Son of God,

and so that by believing you may have life in his name.

The purpose of writing the Bible is to believe in Jesus Christ,

the Son of God, and so that by believing you may be saved.

The Bible only speaks of Jesus Christ. Jesus is with God.

Jesus is God. He is equal to God. The world was created through Jesus.

Jesus is the light of the world He is the image of the invisible God

He is the radiance of the invisible God (Hebrews 12:2-3)

He has all authority in heaven and on earth

Although he is God,

he emptied himself and came to this earth in the form of a servant

and became obedient to death, dying on the cross

And through his resurrection, he purified all the sins of mankind

Now he has ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God

And Jesus Christ, who is seated at the right hand of God,

receives praise, honor, glory, and power from all creation (Revelation 5:12-14)

This is who Jesus Christ is

However, the people of that time slandered and mocked Jesus and said

that he was possessed by a demon

They even arrested him and plotted to kill him

In verse 19, Jesus says that you are trying to kill me

Then they say in verse 20, “You really are possessed by a demon

When did we try to kill you?”

Verse 21

Jesus answered and said to them, “I have one thing to say to you.

When I do this, you all find it strange. Do you not find it strange that I do this?

Did you not find it strange that I healed a lame man who had been crippled for 38 years on the Sabbath?

This is hating me, this is killing me.

Continuing in verses 22-23, it says,

Moses circumcised you (though circumcision is not from Moses,

but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

If a man is circumcised

on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken,

Are you angry with me because I made a man whole on the Sabbath?

The law of the Pharisees mentioned here is a law to catch people.

A pastor went on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

When dinner came, he went into a restaurant and ordered food.

The waitress took his order, but she said that everyone wanted different food.

So taking the order was quite complicated.

But this waitress just nodded and did not write down the order.

When I asked her why she was not writing down the order?

The pastor next to him said, “It seems that the sun has set and it is the Sabbath.”

Since Israel starts its day in the evening, Friday evening is the Sabbath.

Since they cannot write down food orders on the Sabbath,

they just nod their heads to make complicated orders.

In the end, one of the pastors wrote down

the group’s orders on a piece of paper and gave it to them.

They took it with a bright expression on their faces.

Even if others break the Sabbath, they just have to keep the Sabbath.

Jesus refuted the Pharisees who were arguing about

the Sabbath with the issue of circumcision.

They hate me and want to kill me because I healed someone on the Sabbath.

You say you should keep the Sabbath holy.

But why do you break the Sabbath and perform circumcision?

It is legal for you to perform circumcision on the Sabbath,

and how is it a sin for me to heal someone on the Sabbath?

It is right to heal the body and soul of a person,

which is more important than circumcision.

The Jewish leaders now believe that what they do is romance,

but what Jesus does is adultery.

Everything they do is righteous and true.

However, everything the Lord does is unrighteous and unpleasant.

Everything a person hates seems hateful.

Everything a person hates is something they do.

The religious leaders now hate everything Jesus does.

Verse 24.

Do not judge by appearances, but judge righteously.

Jesus said, “Think carefully.

Think carefully about whether what I do is inherently problematic or not.

I see that people always risk their lives on the non-essential rather than the essential.

The reason Jesus came to this earth is that

The main ministry is to heal and cure the souls of dying people.

It is Jesus’ main ministry to save souls.

Jesus turned water into wine. - Healed the atmosphere of the feast.

Jesus healed the son of a nobleman. - Saved from illness

Jesus walked on water and saved the disciples, - Saved from danger

Jesus fed 5,000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish - Saved from hunger

He healed the lame man sitting at the pool of Bethesda on the Sabbath

- Saved from despair

All of these ministries are the core of Jesus' ministry, saving lives

The ministry that Jesus is doing now is all saving lives

The work that the church must do on this earth is to save souls

This is the essence of the church's existence on this earth

If the church clings to non-essence, the church has lost its essence

Jesus is the one who showed God's heart while living on this earth

He said that anyone who has seen me has seen the Father

The heart of God the Father is to save even one soul

Jesus is the one who has God's heart.

Knowing God's heart that wants even one soul to be saved,

The Lord opened the way to salvation for all mankind by crucifying

his body on the cross and killing himself.

All of you misunderstood and made Jesus the subject of controversy.

They claimed that Jesus was a good person.

No, he was an impure person who incited the masses.

Verses 25-26.

Some of the people of Jerusalem said, Isn't this the man they are trying to kill?

Look, they are speaking openly, but they are not saying anything.

Did the authorities really know that this man was the Christ?

The people asked three questions about Jesus who came up to Jerusalem during the Feast of Tabernacles.

1) Isn't Jesus the man we are trying to kill?

Your religious leaders, those in power,
and those with vested interests considered Jesus a thorn in their eyes and tried to kill him.

2) If Jesus was a bad person, why didn't they arrest him when he was teaching in front of many people? (Verse 26)

Then they ask, "Did the authorities really know that Jesus was the Christ?"

3) The question is verse 31

Many of the crowd believed in him and said, "When the Christ comes,

will he perform more signs than this man has performed?"

If the two questions above are mocking questions to Jesus,

the third question is a positive question about Jesus.

Now, if we look at the words, power, love, and sacrifice of Jesus up to now,

even if the Messiah comes, "Will he be greater than this Jesus?"

This statement has not changed even now.

Up until now, no one has appeared who is greater, more perfect,

or greater than Jesus.

Verse 27

But we know where this man is from.

When the Christ comes, no one will know where he is from."

Many people do not believe in Jesus as the Messiah.

Especially those who grew up with Jesus. We know this man's hometown,

who his father is, who his mother is, and who his brothers are.

How can this man be the Messiah?

When the real Messiah comes, no one will know where he comes from.

A prophet is not treated well in his hometown.

Matthew 13:57

But they rejected Jesus, and Jesus said to them,

"A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house."

It is difficult to be recognized by those who know you.

In the movie The Mayor and the County Magistrate,

the mayor and the county magistrate are friends.

However, the mayor and the county magistrate are Chun-sam,

a country bachelor who was the class president in school.

However, the county magistrate is Dae-gyu,

a friend who was the vice president in school.

However, these friends meet 20 years later as the mayor and the county

magistrate with different fates.

This is a comedy movie. In this movie, the village chief Chunsam does not

acknowledge his friend Daegyu, the county magistrate.

That is why he picks a fight with him, makes a fuss, and interferes with

everything the county magistrate does.

The Israelites are gathering around Jesus now.

They do not acknowledge him because they know him well.

Verses 28-29

Jesus cried out as he taught in the temple, "You know me,

and you know where I come from; I have not come of my own accord.

He who sent me is true; you do not know him,

but I know him, for I am from him, and he sent me."

No matter how much you explain the Messiah to someone who has decided

not to believe in Jesus, they will not believe.

Jesus explains two things to them.

1) You say you know about me, but I did not come of my own accord.

There is someone else who sent me.

2) You do not know who sent me, but I do. This means that the birthplace

of Jesus is God. To those who doubt Jesus, this is like grasping at a cloud.

Faith is truly mysterious.

Nowadays, even though they doubt Jesus, they do not

leave him and linger around him.

People in the world do not understand the world of faith.

And yet, they do not give up on Jesus and linger around him.

Faith is something that cannot be explained and is incomprehensible.

That is why sometimes those who believe in Jesus are misunderstood.

Here, in verse 28, Jesus shouts, meaning that he shouts loudly.

In verse 37, Jesus shouts at the end of the Feast of Tabernacles.

Even in the midst of the current fierce atmosphere,

Jesus is risking his life for salvation.

When he shouts, he is spreading the gospel.

What should our faith be like?

We must shout out the name of Jesus for salvation.

This is the faith that is needed today.

We must not hide behind and pretend to believe.

We must make our attitude clear.

These days, the world says that Jesus is not everything.

They say that Jesus alone is not enough.

They say that there are many things the world needs besides Jesus.

Believing in Jesus is just a kind of decoration.

This kind of faith cannot get through a world that

is completely intoxicated with pleasure and enjoyment.

What kind of people should we be?

No matter what anyone says,

we should stand on the Lord's side and confess that Jesus is my life.

We should be people who confess that the Lord is my strength.

Even if our current life is difficult,

We should resolutely shout out Jesus just as Jesus preached the gospel.

At this time, the power of darkness retreats.

Evil spirits kneel and submit. Curses and problems are solved

When our attitude is clear, the kingdom of God comes with power

Verse 30

They were trying to arrest Jesus, but no one laid a hand on him

because his time had not yet come.

The Pharisees and the scribes tried to arrest Jesus and find fault

with his words whenever they could

But things did not go as planned

Verse 32

The Pharisees heard that the crowd was muttering about Jesus.

So the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.

Why did the people try to arrest and kill Jesus?

It was not because of Jesus' fault. It was because of their own fault.

They rejected the truth because of their own unrighteousness.

John 1:5 says that the light shines in the darkness,

but the darkness does not understand it.

The darkness hates the light. Lies hate the truth

Jesus says this to these unrighteous high priests and Pharisees

Verses 33-34

Jesus said to them, "I will stay with you a little longer,

and then I will go to him who sent me.

You will seek me, but you will not find me; where I am, you cannot come."

Jesus says four things:

1) I will stay with you a little longer

2) I will go back to him who sent me

3) Then you will seek me, but you will not find me

4) Where I am, you cannot come.

This is nonsense to those who do not believe in Jesus

But it is completely understandable to those who believe in Jesus

We believe that there is heaven and hell

We believe that God is alive. I believe that God is omnipotent and omniscient.

Jesus will come again.

These words give us joy, confidence, courage, and assurance.

The fact that there is heaven means that it is okay to die now.

The fact that God is alive means that illness, failure,

and despair are not big problems.

The fact that Jesus will come again means that we will definitely win.

However, these words become a stumbling block

and cause conflict and confusion for those who do not believe.

The people of that time did not know Jesus well,

so they did not understand and fell into conflict and confusion.

Until you know the Lord, the life of all humans is a life of conflict.

When you meet the Lord, the wandering and conflict of life are resolved.

You can never be happy in life before you meet the Lord.

Happiness before meeting the Lord is a disguised happiness

When you meet the Lord, all the wandering steps of life stop

Please do not turn around and meet the Lord today

Please believe in the Lord at this time today

The Lord will be the end of your life's wandering and conflict

Verses 35-36

Then the Jews asked one another, "Where will this man go so that we will not find

him? Will he go to the Greeks who are scattered among them and teach the

Greeks? What is this saying that he said, 'You will seek me and not find me; and

where I am, you cannot come?'"

People do not understand God's words well

Nicodemus in the Bible did not understand Jesus' words.

I did not understand that you must be born again.

So, must I go into my mother's womb and come out? - he says.

Nicodemus did not understand Jesus' words,

but he did not realize the spiritual meaning contained in the words.

Like Nicodemus and the people in the text,

many people do not understand Jesus' words.

When we look at the saints, there are many saints who seem to have faith

but do not understand the words.

I read the Bible a lot. They pray hard

But I see saints whose spiritual world has not been opened

Jesus did not understand the words,

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven”

“My flesh is true food” “My blood is true drink”

“If you drink this water, you will be thirsty again,

but whoever drinks the water that I give you

will never thirst”

However, faith allows us to understand Jesus’ words

If we receive, believe, and trust the words of the Lord, we meet God

We see eternal life, salvation, heaven, and blessings

However, those who opposed and mocked Jesus, and those who passed by Jesus

They did not see Jesus, hear Him, or receive salvation

That is why Jesus spoke about heaven in parables

The disciples did not know Jesus at first

They followed him for three and a half years,

but even after witnessing his death on the cross and his resurrection

They did not know the Lord accurately.

Spiritual truth is not something you learn overnight.

You gradually come to understand it over time.

You must abandon the impatience to learn the truth of Jesus overnight.

An impatience is the work of Satan.

If you hold on to Jesus, if you receive discipleship training,

If you listen to the Word, your ears and eyes will naturally open.

This day will be the day when heaven and earth are created.

I hope this day will come.

Before you work, become a worshiper and receive grace.

My faith was once an intellectual faith.

I lived an indifferent life of faith.

However, when I saw deacons at church being baptized in the Holy Spirit,

I was moved and rejoiced,

and when I saw them behaving in a way that was beyond human understanding,

I couldn't understand it.

I thought it was all an exaggerated lie.

But one day, while praying, I received a powerful anointing from the Holy Spirit.

I began speaking in tongues and received spiritual gifts.

God came to me. Even now,

As I experienced the touch of the Holy Spirit, where the dead were healed,

diseases were cured, curses were removed, problems were solved,

and spiritual gifts burst forth, my indifferent faith was liquidated.

I also learned that the anointing of the Holy Spirit is something that

only those who have received it know.

When there was no anointing of the Holy Spirit,

I did not understand the actions of the people of the Holy Spirit.

I thought that going to church was all there was.

Dear Lord, the Lord is still alive

The Lord is still working

I hope you meet this Lord

I hope the anointing of the Holy Spirit comes

So I hope you experience the joy of the resolution of the unresolved

and incomprehensible

Your faith in Jesus is real Jesus is still alive and working

When you meet Jesus, you will read the Bible all night You will praise Him

You will stay up all night and fast An unknown power will rule over you

You will experience amazing power

So your problems will be resolved in the name of Jesus

Illnesses will be healed in the name of Jesus

Curses will go away in the name of Jesus

Belief in Jesus is not a concept but a fact I hope you will enjoy it in your life

I hope you will experience the heavenly events that prove that God is alive

The spiritual experience of meeting Jesus changes our lives.

The goal of life changes - so the goal is the glory of the Lord

Values change - God's values become my values

Time management changes

- Go to bed early in the evening and wake up at dawn to meet God at dawn

View of material things changes - Give tithes

Whether you invest for yourself or for material things

Invest without sparing for the kingdom and glory of God

People in the world who see this say we are crazy

The faith of those who believe in Jesus and have never heard

that they are crazy is rather strange

To a physical person,

t is difficult to understand the appearance of spiritual people

Believing in Jesus is a life of emotion Believing in Jesus is a life of joy

A life that rises from failure and frustration is a life of faith in Jesus

I hope this week will be filled with emotional testimonies in Jesus.
