John 7:37-48 Jesus, the living water experienced in the wilderness of life
All people in this world live with thirst due to the thirst of the soul.
People indulge in fortune telling, alcohol, gambling,
and dancing because they are thirsty.
They struggle to survive, leaning on these things.
How cursed is this thirst, this thirst.
Nothing in the world can quench or quench this thirst.
That is why God says in Ecclesiastes 5:10,
He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver,
And he who loves abundance will not be satisfied with his income.
This is also meaningless.
Even if you store up silver, you will not be satisfied with what you have stored up.
The thirst and thirst of the world are endless.
Nothing in this world can quench it. So, in Ecclesiastes 5:10, we conclude,
¡°This too is vanity.¡±
However, humans try to quench this (thirst, thirst) with something in the world.
Amos 8:12-13
People will stagger from sea to sea, from north to east,
and will seek the word of the Lord, but will not find it.
In that day, both beautiful virgins and young men will faint for thirst.
This world is a staggering world, a weary world, a thirsty world.
Nikos Kazankaski is a writer.
He truly lived a life of endless wandering before he met Jesus.
So I was absorbed in philosophy and law,
and I was absorbed in morality and thought.
But my wandering could not stop – he confessed.
He testified that his wandering steps stopped in Jesus.
In this world, our thirst can never be quenched.
There are three major festivals in Israel. Passover, Weeks, and Tabernacles
If you look at John 7, the word ¡°Tabernacles¡± appears seven times.
It appears in verses 2, 8, 10, 11, 14, and 37.
The reason is that the Lord¡¯s intention
and the Feast of Tabernacles are connected.
The Feast of Tabernacles is the Feast of Tabernacles,
so you can call it the Feast of Tabernacles or the Feast of Tents.
The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years after leaving Egypt.
They lived in the wilderness for 40 years before going to
the land of God¡¯s blessing.
They lived in tents without a stable home while passing through the wilderness.
When they passed through this wilderness, God gave them manna and quail to eat.
And He brought living water from a rock for them to drink.
When they passed through this wilderness, they held a great festival of
thanksgiving for 7 days, remembering the manna, quail, living water, pillar of fire,
and pillar of cloud that God gave them. This is the Feast of Tabernacles
The Israelites harvest three times a year,
and the last harvest is the Feast of Tabernacles.
During the three major festivals of this nation, sacrifices are placed on the altar.
During the Feast of Tabernacles, water is poured on the sacrifices.
The priests dressed in white robes come out of the temple and go along the stone path extending down the hill to the
Pool of Siloam,
filling the golden water jugs with water,
and then going back up to the altar of the temple.
The priests circle the altar seven times,
and shout, as in Psalm 118:25,
¡°Save us, O Lord; prosper us, O Lord!¡± and offer prayers and praises to God.
Then they pour the water they have drawn onto the altar.
All the people also recite Isaiah
and Psalms, praising God and offering the last sacrifice.
This is the last day of the seven-day festival. The event is at its peak.
This is the day to apologize to God.
And it is the day to give praise and thanks to God.
And they pour water from the Pool of Siloam on the altar, blow trumpets,
wave palm branches, and dance with joy.
At this time, Jesus stands and shouts to the people.
Verse 37.
On the last day of the festival, that great day, Jesus stood and shouted,
¡°If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.¡±
What a great message.
It is the message that humanity has been waiting for.
Now, God is standing here as a man.
The living water that is being poured
on the altar now symbolizes the living water that the Israelites of old
struck the rock and drank whenever they cried out to God
in the wilderness because they were thirsty.
Now the Lord says, ¡°Here is a rock that produces living water, and I will give you living water. Therefore, if you are
thirsty, come to me and drink.¡±
Isaiah cries out, ¡°Let him who is thirsty come to the water¡± (Isaiah 55:1).
But Jesus says, ¡°If you are thirsty, come to me.¡±
Why is that?
The net that Isaiah was calling out is Jesus Christ, the living water.
Has anyone among the people of the world invited people with such
a magnificent and clear message?
Who confidently proclaimed that he would quench
the thirst of thirsty and thirsty people?
There is no one but Jesus.
The only one who can solve all the problems of our thirst is Jesus.
Talking about ethics and morals day and night to a thirsty soul is useless.
We must give Jesus to solve the thirst of life.
Are you frustrated? Are you tired? Are you exhausted?
Jesus is the only solution. I hope to meet this Jesus
Jesus becomes the living water that solves the thirst of our lives
¡°If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink.¡±
God is inviting us today to solve our thirst
Although humans have left God and are wandering in sin,
God is still calling us without rest today
Our Lord¡¯s invitation is not an invitation to eat a bowl of rice,
but an invitation to eternal forgiveness of sins
and an invitation to eternal happiness
The Lord¡¯s calling contains eternal life, salvation, restoration, and happiness
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest
God is inviting us today as well.
An invitation is a welcome thing
Inviting me means that he remembers me
I mean that I am an important person to the one who invites me
He wants to be with me
Of course, there are also unwelcome invitations.
However, Jesus¡¯ invitation is never a burden.
Jesus' invitation is from despair to hope
Jesus' invitation is from chaos and darkness to light
Jesus' invitation is from death to life
Jesus' invitation is from curse to salvation
Jesus' invitation is from illness to healing
Jesus' invitation changes sorrow to joy
Jesus' invitation is a very precious and valuable invitation
At the end of the feast, "standing" and coming
He is calling us with a loud voice.
We can find the sincerity and earnestness of Jesus in inviting us
Now, Jesus is standing and shouting with
a loud voice during the Feast of Tabernacles
It is to repent and return quickly now
Jesus is urgently inviting us now. Now the Lord says, ¡°Come to me.¡±
The sick come to me.The poor come to me.The desperate come to me.
The wounded come to me.The oppressed come to me.The lonely come to me.
The sleepless and anxious come to me.
The Lord who called us to come like this commands us to go again after recovery.
Are there any sick people? - Get healed and go.
Are there any poor people? - Go after experiencing the Lord¡¯s fullness.
Are there any despair? - Go with hope.
Are there any wounds? - Go after experiencing recovery and returning.
Are there any loneliness? - Go back with joy.
Are you sleepless and anxious? - Go back with peace.
The Lord is the one who stops all the wandering steps of our lives.
The Lord is the oasis of life that we meet in this wilderness-like world.
I hope that your thirst will be restored in the Lord.
Do you miss love? I hope you will run into the arms of the Lord who invites you and experience His warm love. Are
you tired of life?
May you rest in the warm embrace of the Lord.
The Lord's invitation is for everyone to come.
The poor to come. The rich to come. The sick to come.
The healthy to come. The failed to come. The successful to come.
The educated and the uneducated to come.
The unknown and the famous to come. The white and the black to come.
If anyone is thirsty, come and drink and enjoy recovery.
Acts 2:21
On the day of Pentecost, he said that he would pour out
the Holy Spirit on everyone.
And he declared that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Everyone, without exception, is the object of Jesus' invitation.
The Lord invites everyone to come to him and drink.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me. There is none.
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.
And whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
If you go to Jesus and drink Jesus, you will see the path I must take.
If you go to Jesus and drink Jesus, you will see the truth I will hold onto forever.
If you go to Jesus and drink Jesus, you will enjoy eternal life.
If you go to Jesus and drink Jesus, lost happiness will be resurrected.
If you go to Jesus and drink Jesus, you will never die.
If you go to Jesus and drink Jesus, you will live even though you die.
Isaiah 55:1
Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;
and you who have no money, come.
Come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. -
Jesus' invitation does not involve money.
There is no sacrifice or price. It's free
It's so precious that it can't be put into a price, so it's free
Everything precious that's been given to us is free
Salvation is an incredible grace that can't be put into a price. That's why it's free
It can't be put into a price for the sun, air, and water, so it's free for us.
Do you have any parents who buy them with money? No
Parents are so precious to us in life that they're given to us for free.
Love can't be put into a price, so it's free
Forgiveness is so precious that it's free
Jesus gave us such a precious and valuable grace.
If you accept Jesus' invitation in this way, you will experience abundance.
If you accept Jesus¡¯ invitation in this way, you will experience abundance.
Then how can you respond to Jesus¡¯ invitation?
Verse 38
He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said,
¡°Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.¡±
Believing in Jesus is the way to respond to the invitation.
Faith transcends reason.
It is not something you know and then believe.
You know after you believe.
I hope you believe in Jesus today.
People believe in Jesus and accept Him as their Lord in their hearts.
This is responding to the invitation.
If you believe in Jesus and accept Him,
you can deeply realize (come to know) about Him.
You cannot know God through human reason or experience. Jesus is not someone who can be grasped by human
reason, experience, or philosophy. Humans are limited and incompetent. It is impossible for such a person to
understand the omnipotent God. The only way to approach the omnipotent God is to rely on and believe in Jesus.
As the Bible says, if you approach Jesus¡¯ invitation with faith,
The river of living water will overflow from the person¡¯s belly.
This is the fruit of the invitation, the reward of the invitation,
the blessing of the invitation.
Deuteronomy 8:6-10
Keep the commandments of the Lord your God,
walk in his ways, and fear him (rely on him, believe in him).
For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land,
A land of brooks of water, fountains, and springs, flowing out of valleys and hills,
A land of wheat and barley, vines and fig trees,
pomegranates, olive trees and honey.
A land where you will eat without lack, where you will lack nothing.
A land where the stones are iron, and out of the hills you can dig copper.
You will eat and You will be satisfied and praise the Lord your God for the good
land he has given you. This is the abundance of the Lord given to the people who
respond to Jesus' invitation.
I hope you enjoy it by believing in Jesus.
Psalm 78:15-16
He split the rock in the wilderness and gave them a drink,
like water from the deep.
He also brought streams out of the rock and made the water flow like a river.
But those who respond to Jesus' invitation experience
the miracle of drinking abundant water from the rock.
Zechariah 14:8
On that day, living water will flow out from Jerusalem,
half of it to the eastern sea,
and half of it to the western sea, in summer and in winter.
Those who respond to Jesus' invitation experience abundance
that does not know drought in all four seasons.
I hope you experience abundance that does not know drought
in these difficult times.
Living water flows from Jerusalem.
The book of Ezekiel says that living water comes from the temple. The living water that the Lord gives flows without
ceasing and without rest in all four seasons.
Revelation 22:1-2
He also gave me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal.
And I saw a river flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
and in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit,
yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. The water of life causes
the tree of life to bear fruit of life
Whoever eats this fruit will live forever
And the leaves of the tree of life heal and restore all nations
May all spiritual and physical illnesses be healed through Jesus, the water of life
Verse 39
This he spoke of the Holy Spirit, which those who believe in him would receive (for the Holy Spirit was not yet given,
because Jesus was not yet glorified)
When you meet Jesus, you will be blessed
He gives a gift to those who meet Jesus and believe in Him
His gift is the flowing river of living water, the Holy Spirit
When the Holy Spirit works within us,
we say that the living water of the Holy Spirit flows out
When I look at the river, I feel joy and abundance
When I went to the US to lead a meeting, my wife and I walked along the Colorado River in Laughlin. It is a place you
must stop by
and stay for a night if you go to Grand Canyon from LA
The view of the Colorado River in Laughlin in the evening was truly fantastic
On the clear river The fish were playing
Tourists are playing on a boat in the Colorado River
It is such a beautiful place
I felt the beauty and abundance that the river gives.
I experienced what abundance the river gives
That is why people build restaurants on the riverside and welcome guests
And the guests sit on the riverside and eat food
Why? Because of the joy and abundance that the river gives.
The river causes development.
Wherever the river passes, life comes alive
It ripens crops
That is why the river becomes the lifeline of the country
Wherever the river flows, life is supplied
Similarly, when the living water of the Holy Spirit flows, joy overflows and fatigue (frustration, despair, irritation)
disappears
Let's look at Acts 5:41-42
The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the name. And every day,
in the temple and from house to house,
they did not cease teaching and preaching the good news that Jesus is the Christ.
The apostles are persecuted. They face difficulties
But because the living water in the Holy Spirit flows,
Persecution and difficulties are transformed into joy
However, many believers come to church,
believe in Jesus, and are baptized in water.
But they do not experience the living water in the Holy Spirit.
The believers diligently come to church.
Read the Bible. Listen to sermons.
Make offerings. Do volunteer work.
And then go out into the world and have a drink.
And they do things that are not virtuous.
There is no change in their lives at all
They believe in Jesus and come to church,
but the living water of the Holy Spirit does not flow.
If there is no change and no movement in faith yesterday or today,
The river of living water does not flow.
There is a river where water does not flow, a well where the spring has dried up.
They believe in Jesus, come to church, read the Bible, and listen to sermons.
But that face without emotion, fullness, and passion is that face.
The blood of Jesus has dried up in their lives.
Do you find the world difficult, tiring, and irritating?
The living water of the Holy Spirit has dried up
The river remains, but the water has all dried up
However, some people have light on their faces and joy
They are not anxious even if they have no money.
They are not discouraged even if they are sick.
They are not afraid even if they fail.
They are filled with joy and confidence in their improvement
The living water of the Holy Spirit is overflowing
Those who have this living water of the Holy Spirit flowing will soon experience recovery. May you be filled with grace
by drinking
the living water in the Holy Spirit.
May you be blessed with the overflowing river of the water
of life by meeting Jesus.
A person with a river of living water seems a little crazy.
Even if you have no money or possessions, you are filled with joy and happiness.
This is because the Holy Spirit, the living water, is present.
Today, I would like to give you an invitation from Jesus.
And I also hope you will share this invitation from Jesus with your neighbors.
Please share this invitation at your happiness gatherings.
¡°If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Jesus and drink.
As the Bible says, from the belly of those
who believe in Jesus, rivers of living water will flow.
It will quench the thirst of all your lives.¡± - I give you this invitation.
And I hope you come to the Lord and enjoy it.
Life is a wilderness, a dry desert.
In such a difficult and thirsty life,
it is a great blessing for living water to burst out and flow.
The life of a saint is a life where living water flows.
Some people live annoying lives,
But some people live overflowing lives.
Crawling on the floor I hope your life will be overflowing
I hope the Holy Spirit's living water will overflow
I hope your life will overflow with living water
I say a life overflowing with living water is a full life, an overflowing life
So when the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, prayers will also overflow
When the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, praises will overflow
When the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, service will overflow
When the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, obedience will also overflow
When the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, gratitude will also overflow
When the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, sacrifice will also overflow
When the Holy Spirit's living water is overflowing, joy will overflow
If you plant a tree where living water is overflowing, it will grow well
When living water is overflowing, fish will grow well
When living water is overflowing,
your class and cell will be revived and happy gatherings will go well
I hope everything in your life will grow well
I hope you will be filled with the Holy Spirit and overflow with living water
Where a believer overflowing with living water goes,
hatred will disappear and love will overflow
Where a believer overflowing with living water goes,
divisions will disappear and unity will overflow
Where a believer overflowing with living water goes,
wounds will Disappear and healing overflow
Where the saints overflowing with living water go,
despair disappears and hope overflows
Where the saints overflowing with living water go,
discouragement disappears and courage overflows
I hope that your life will be green with the flow of living water in your life
Just as Joseph's branch went over the wall and fed the Near East
I hope that everyone will enjoy abundance through your lives filled
with the living water of the Holy Spirit
There is a vision in Ezekiel 47
Water overflows from the temple gate area
So I went and measured it, and at first it was up to my ankles, then my knees, then my waist, and later it was enough
water to swim in.
This is what the church should be like today
The living water of the Holy Spirit should be poured from heaven into our church,
and this living water should overflow from our church,
and wherever this water touches, a history of life should take place.
First, you who worship should come alive, your family should come alive,
your clan should come alive, your neighbors should come alive,
our Buk-gu should come alive, Ulsan should come alive,
our people should come alive,
and the nations of the world should come alive.
I hope that our church will become a church of salvation where the living water that saves the whole world flows.
Wherever the foreign matter touches, souls should come alive,
the sick should be healed, problems should be solved,
and curses should go away. A history of survival should take place.
I hope that our church will become this kind of church.
May our church be filled with the living water of the Holy Spirit
Please seek the power of the Holy Spirit
He will give the Holy Spirit as a gift to those who ask
The most profitable business in the world is prayer
The most powerful weapon God has given us is prayer
When we pray, the Holy Spirit comes
When you pray, your life will be oily
A praying church is the protagonist of history
A praying church is the protagonist of the nation.
It saves the nation and the world
Prayer is a holy tool that God uses to create a great wave of revival
A praying church is filled with the Holy Spirit
A praying church is overflowing with living water
May the world be filled with the overflowing living water of the Holy Spirit
that is in our church
