Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest Life is truly tiring.
Our lives are lives of carrying heavy burdens
We wander in thirst
However, in this world, our thirst cannot be quenched
And our wandering steps cannot be stopped
The Lord, who knows this, says in verses 37-38 of the text,
¡°If you thirst, come to me.¡±
My weary, tired life, heavy burden, thirst
Jesus invites us to stop my wandering steps.
The invitation of Jesus is an invitation to eternal forgiveness of sins and an invitation to eternal happiness.
There is eternal life in the invitation of Jesus.
If you respond to the invitation of Jesus,
your life of despair will be transformed into hope.
If you respond to the invitation of Jesus,
your life of confusion will be transformed into light.
If you respond to the invitation of Jesus,
your life of confusion will be transformed into life.
If you respond to the invitation of Jesus,
your life of death will be transformed into life.
If you respond to the invitation of Jesus,
your life of curse will be transformed into salvation.
If you respond to the invitation of Jesus,
your life of illness will be transformed into healing.
The Lord says, ¡°Come to me¡± right now. Anyone is invited to come
The sick, the healthy, the poor, the rich, the desperate,
The wounded, the wronged, the lonely, the failed, the successful,
The spouse, the uneducated, anyone is invited to come
He tells me to come to him like this and recover and then go
The sick today are invited to receive healing and go
The poor today are invited to experience being filled and go
The desperate today are invited to go with hope
The wounded today are invited to experience recovery and return
The lonely today are invited to experience love and return
He tells me to come and drink and enjoy recovery if I am thirsty
Our Lord is the healer of the sick, the poor, the desperate,
The wounded, the wronged, the lonely, and the failed
If you go to the Lord, you will definitely experience healing and recovery
If you respond to the Lord's invitation and believe in the Lord,
you will live a life where living water flows
The Lord is the one who gives us the Holy Spirit
Living water flows in the Holy Spirit. Therefore,
if we believe in Jesus, the living water of the Holy Spirit will flow in our lives.
The life of a saint is a life in which living water flows.
I hope that you will be filled with the living water of the Holy Spirit and overflow.
A life overflowing with living water is called fullness.
This is called the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, when the Holy Spirit is full, prayers, hymns, and service will overflow.
Obedience, gratitude, sacrifice, and joy will also overflow.
If you plant a tree where living water flows, it will grow well.
Plants and fish grow well where living water flows.
When living water flows, everything grows well. Everything is restored
A saint overflowing with the living water of the Holy Spirit
changes hatred into love
A saint overflowing with the living water of the Holy Spirit
changes divisions into unity
A saint overflowing with the living water of the Holy Spirit heals wounds
A saint overflowing with the living water of the Holy Spirit
changes those in despair into hope
A saint overflowing with the living water of the Holy Spirit
gives courage to those who are discouraged
I hope that everyone will enjoy abundance
through your lives filled with the living water of the Holy Spirit
Like Ezekiel's vision in Ezekiel 47,
water overflowed from the temple gate area, filling ankles,
and knees, then waists, and later became water enough to swim in.
May the living water of the Holy Spirit be poured into our church
This living water must overflow from our church
and wherever this water touches, a work of life must take place
May you come to life, your family come to life
Your family come to life / Your neighbors come to life
This nation come to life and the nations of the world come to life
Wherever this living water of the Holy Spirit touches, souls come to life,
The sick are healed, and curses are removed, a work of survival takes place
May our church be filled with the living water of the Holy Spirit
The living water of the Holy Spirit will be given to those who believe and ask
The most profitable business in the world is prayer
The most powerful weapon God has given us is the weapon of prayer
May this fullness of the Holy Spirit come upon us when we pray
When Jesus spoke about the living water of the Holy Spirit,
these are the reactions of these people
Verses 40-42
Some of the crowd who heard this said, "This man is truly the prophet."
Some said, "He is the Christ." Others said, "How can the Christ come from Galilee?"
In the Bible Didn't they say that the Christ will come from David's offspring and from Bethlehem, the town where David
lived?
The things Jesus did and said became the subject of controversy for them.
For the past 2,000 years, Jesus has always been the subject of controversy.
Is Jesus God? Is Jesus the Son of God? A human? Is Jesus the Savior?
Did Jesus die and rise again?...
These debates have continued since then and even now.
Why do they debate?
People do not debate for long what is not true or false.
Because it is not the truth but a lie.
However, the Lord is still alive and is the eternal truth, so they still debate.
They debate until Jesus is resurrected.
At the center of this debate were Jesus' family. They do not recognize him as
the Son of God because he grew up under the same blanket.
And the Jews around Jesus
They say, ¡°I know your house and your parents and your brothers,
so how can you be the Messiah?¡±
And the great crowds of Jerusalem
They ask, ¡°Isn¡¯t Jesus possessed by a demon?¡±
They branded him as a demagogue who incited the good people.
However, despite their accusations,
The Lord turned water into wine, healed a 38-year-old lame man,
Walked on water and saved his disciples who were sinking due to the wind,
He healed a nobleman¡¯s son with a word,
and fed 5,000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish.
And Jesus introduces himself as a person sent by God to this earth.
He said, ¡°I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever eats me will never thirst.¡±
I introduce you to the true drink that will never make you thirsty in your life.
There were crowds that followed Jesus
and were enthusiastic about this appearance,
and there were those who doubted, mocked, and denied everything.
Jesus was always the object of interest for many people.
He always delivered the amazing words of life to those
who followed him and those who rejected him.
He said, ¡°If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink.¡±
And he did not harbor hostility toward those who criticized and mocked him.
Instead, he promised to give them the bread of life and the living water of life.
Jesus did not become arrogant in front of the crowd
that was enthusiastic about him,
and did not become discouraged in front of the crowd that criticized him.
He silently walked his own path, the path of the cross, the path that saves souls.
When humans encounter difficulties, they want to turn back on the path
they were on. However, it is God's grace to silently go one's own way
Our Lord does not panic in front of the crowd that mocks
and persecutes him, but rather boldly invites them to happiness
Jesus does not give up the mission and faith that he was given,
no matter what difficulties he faces
He overcomes all temptations and goes only on the path of faith,
the cross, and his mission
Jesus consistently delivers the message of salvation even in the midst of mockery, persecution, and threats
Let's look at verses 40-42 again
Some of the crowd who heard this said, "This man is truly the prophet,"
And others said,
"The Christ." Others said, "How can the Christ come from Galilee?"
Did not the Scripture say that the Christ comes from the offspring of David,
and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?"
Since the Lord is always the subject of controversy, he asks Peter this.
¡°Who do people say that I am?¡±
Matthew 16:13
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples,
¡°Who do people say that the Son of Man is?¡±
When people have low self-confidence, identity, and self-esteem,
they react sensitively to trivial words around them.
However, the Lord does not want to hear what others say,
but wants to hear the answer of his disciple Peter.
He hears the people¡¯s reaction to Jesus through Peter.
Matthew 16:14
They said, ¡°Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah,
and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.¡± At this time, Jesus asks Peter.
So then he asks, ¡°Who do you say that I am?¡±
Matthew 16:15
And he said to them, ¡°Who do you say that I am?¡±
Jesus was interested in hearing each person¡¯s confession of faith.
He wanted to hear my confession of faith and yours.
If we look at verses 40-42, we can see how the people at that time viewed Jesus.
1) They saw Jesus as a prophet (verse 40)
A prophet is a servant of God who directly received the word of God
and delivered it to the people. This is a great evaluation.
2) They saw Jesus as the Christ (verse 41)
They considered Jesus as the Christ.
3) And they viewed Jesus negatively.
People said, Will the Christ come from Galilee?
Didn¡¯t it say that the Christ would come from the seed of David
and from Bethlehem, where David lived?
They have extensive knowledge of the Bible.
They are well aware of the coming of the Biblical Messiah
They are well aware of the prophecy in Micah that the Messiah will be
born in Bethlehem. (But they are from Galilee~)
However, they are well-versed in the Old Testament
and have religious knowledge, but they deny Jesus
They knew a lot about the Old Testament
and had religious knowledge, but they did not believe in Jesus.
However, those who acknowledge and believe in Jesus
1) acknowledged, believed in, and accepted Jesus as the Son of God
and the Savior of mankind
2) And they truly loved Jesus.
They cannot live without Jesus
They acknowledge and accept the existence and identity of Jesus
A person who loves Jesus is united with the personality of Jesus
We want to contact and hear the voice of the person we love
And we even give our lives for the person we love
Because we love Jesus, we devote ourselves and sacrifice
Among those who met Jesus, there were those who broke the alabaster jar,
stuck to Jesus' feet, and washed their hair.
This is a confession of deep love for Jesus
After meeting Jesus, the woman at the well of Samaria
Leaves her water jar and proclaims, ¡°I have found the Messiah.¡±
This is love and devotion to Jesus
A woman who committed adultery meets Jesus at the scene.
Jesus says, ¡°Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.¡±
This woman experienced the deep love of Jesus who forgives sins
A person who meets Jesus has Jesus engraved in his heart
A person who meets Jesus leaves the traces of Christ on his body
We are those who have the traces of Christ
There are several traces of Jesus on my body.
In particular, when I was driving during the early days of pioneering,
I got into a car accident and my head was torn,
and when I wake up, there are traces.
Every time I wash my hair, I find traces of God
He saved me from that big car accident? - I think
Those who have the traces of Jesus love Jesus passionately
Why can¡¯t we sacrifice for Jesus? It¡¯s because we haven¡¯t received anything
We share love as much as we have been loved.
We share grace as much as we receive grace
We share forgiveness as much as we are forgiven
Those who have not experienced love and forgiveness
cannot love themselves or forgive themselves
Those who cannot love and forgive themselves cannot love and forgive others
Those who have received God's unending love, unconditional love,
unchanging love, and unquestionable love
can offer infinite love and sacrifice for Jesus
I hope you have traces of Jesus loving you today
I hope you have traces of Jesus forgiving you
I hope the traces of the grace Jesus gave you are vivid
Among those who argued with, criticized, and mocked Jesus at the time
There was someone who arrested Jesus and plotted.
The religious leaders and those in power at the time go to arrest Jesus
Verses 43-46
A dispute arose among the crowd because of Jesus.
Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him.
Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they asked,
¡°Why did you not bring him in?¡± The officers answered,
¡°Never has anyone spoken like this man.¡±
The servants who had gone to arrest Jesus under
the direction of the chief priests and Pharisees
just returned empty-handed.
When they came back and were questioned, they answered,
¡°No one (living person) has ever spoken like Jesus.¡±
The words of Jesus are truths that no one can hear,
and Jesus has spiritual authority and excellence.
The origin and birth of Jesus are truly unique
Jesus is the one who was with God before the creation of the world
Jesus is the one who created all things in the universe with words
Jesus's one word is truly amazing... This Jesus is God
This God Jesus comes to this earth in a fleshly body
This Jesus was conceived and born in Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit
The life that this Jesus lived cannot be imitated by anyone.
Jesus' love, forgiveness, healing,
and recovery are incomparable to anyone else
Jesus' life was truly outstanding
He healed lepers and cripples.
He healed countless sick people, including the blind and those with bleeding.
He also healed demon-possessed people and freed those who were stranded
He raised Lazarus from the dead with a single word
Lazarus, come out - The Lord's words have great power and authority
Everyone, when Jesus speaks, there is healing,
Everyone, when Jesus speaks, there is recovery.
Everyone, when Jesus speaks, there is forgiveness.
When Jesus speaks, the curse goes away.
When Jesus speaks, there is life.
Jesus is the king. He is power. He is the King of kings.
Jesus gave us all these powers and abilities.
I have given all authority in heaven
and on earth to me...Now the Lord's authority is my authority.
The Lord's power is my power.
He gave this authority to all who believe in Jesus as their Savior.
All these authorities were legally given to us.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may
proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Now we are His chosen
people
We are royal priests
We are a holy nation
Almost a people of possession
We are children of God and possession
God's law applies to the kingdom of God
God's law applies to the king of the kingdom of God (the king can use the law)
Also, God's law applies to the children of the kingdom of God
Everyone! Are you the kingdom of God?
Are you the people of God? Are you royal priests?
Then the law of the kingdom of God applies to you,
the people of the kingdom of God
This law that you will be saved if you believe in Jesus applies to you
All the miracles that Jesus performed also apply to you
The miracles, signs, and powers that Jesus performed all apply to us
Because we are His holy nation and His children
And we are royal priests
We are the kings of the kingdom of God
(The law of the Republic of Korea requires military service.
This law applies to all the people)
Similarly, in the law of the kingdom of God, curses are removed
In the law of the kingdom of God, diseases are definitely cured.
In the law of the kingdom of God, demons will definitely leave
In the law of the kingdom of God, problems will definitely be solved
(all problems are solved in the law of God)
Therefore, I hope you will shout with the law of the kingdom of God
(I hope you will use the power of the king)
The king has the power to kill and the power to save
In the name of the king Jesus, curses will go away - and the curses will go away
In the name of the king Jesus, diseases will go away
- and the diseases will go away
In the name of the king Jesus, problems will be solved
- and the problems will be solved
In the name of the king Jesus, ghosts will go away - and the ghosts will go away
Why? Because it is the law of God
But in the time of Jesus
They believed in miracles, signs, and wonders,
but they did not believe in Jesus as the Messiah
But now, on the contrary, they believe in Jesus as the Lord of salvation
But this is an age that does not believe in miracles, signs, and wonders
Please do not say, ¡°Will this miracle happen to me?¡±
You are not so special that miracles do not happen to you alone
You are ordinary people of God to whom the law of the kingdom of God
cannot but be applied
You are not special beings who cannot be saved
You are ordinary beings who cannot but be saved in the name of Jesus
You are not special beings who cannot be healed from illness
You are ordinary beings who cannot
but be healed from illness in the name of Jesus
You are not beings who live their whole lives under a curse
You are ordinary beings whose curses cannot
but be taken away in the name of Jesus
You are not special beings who cannot be healed from problems, curses,
and illness
You are a holy nation - please believe it
You are His own people - please believe it
You are priests like a king - please believe it
When a king declares, it happens
The king May you regain your authority
Verses 47-48
The Pharisees answered, "Have you also been deceived?
Has anyone among the rulers or the Pharisees believed in him?"
They sent to arrest Jesus, but they all returned.
"Do you mean that we sent to arrest Jesus, but instead,
we became addicted to him?
Then, are there any among the rulers and the Pharisees who believe in Jesus?"
If you drink alcohol, you become addicted to alcohol,
and if you gamble, you become addicted to gambling.
If you meet Jesus, you cannot help but become addicted to Jesus. When you meet Jesus, your eyes will be filled with
tears of joy,
Your heart will be filled with the vision of God,
Your hands and feet will burn with the passion of God.
A person who is addicted to Jesus (a person who has met Him)
has the characteristic of being prepared to improve,
and running immediately when He calls.
Among them, there is one who met Jesus and became addicted.
He is Nicodemus, one of the Pharisees.
Verses 49-50
This group who do not know the law are cursed.
One of them, Nicodemus, who had come to Jesus before, said to them,
Nicodemus was a Pharisee, a member of the Sanhedrin, and a successful man.
He was a successful man, a man with a lot of money,
He was a man with power, but he always had a thirst for eternal life in his heart.
He came to the Lord in the middle of the night, had fellowship with Him, and became Jesus' disciple.
If you come to the Lord and have fellowship with Him,
you cannot help but become addicted to Him.
There are so many people like this around us.
They live with various good conditions.
But they are not satisfied. I am troubled by the problem of sin. It is frustrating. Then one day I meet the Lord and enjoy
freedom. If I always live an anxious life,
I will enjoy peace when I meet Jesus. If I live a life of inferiority and resentment,
I will meet the Lord. My face will change into a smile and I will be filled with confidence. If I become addicted to Jesus, I
will change like this.
The Lord is the period that stops all the wandering steps in our lives.
There is no one like Jesus in this world. Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus becomes the Lord of our salvation.
Jesus becomes our life. Jesus is the way of our lives.
Jesus is the answer to life that solves all problems.
